This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to attend a Drum Corps International competition at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium here in Louisville. I am so excited!! In Nashville at Cheekwood, there is a Dale Chihuly exhibit. I took an evening last week and trekked down there to get some pictures. I had no idea it was going to be so AMAZING!! Today here in Louisville the Flags for Veterans group set up a display on the Great Lawn in Waterfront Park. Ever since we moved into this house, the backyard has blossomed with new flowers every year. This year it was this beautiful azalea bush. We took another trip to the backside of Churchill Downs the other day. It’s starting to get pretty crazy back there this close to Derby time. It was really buzzing with excitement. I took a trip to Nashville this year to look at all of the Christmas lights they have up at the Opryland Hotel. If you’ve never been I highly suggest it. This place is unbelievable! It’s so peaceful and amazing all rolled up into a delightful little ball. I love it there, just love it. Here are a few of the shots I came home with.   Here is a side of me that is usually not seen on here :) I also make cakes on occasion. Here is a cake that I did for a fall wedding last weekend. The bride and groom were a dream to work with! Seriously, you have no idea how wonderful they were! After I got the cake set up I took a couple pictures of my work and that is what you are seeing. Enjoy!

After a long weekend of going out to Bowman Field to the Bluegrass Balloon Festival and waiting for a hot air balloon race we finally got to see one on Sunday morning. Missy and I got out to the field at 6:30am and at 8:30 they decided that they were going to do a “Fly In”. This is where the pilots go out somewhere and attempt to fly into the field

When Annie and I went to TN a couple of weeks ago, her cousin Will took us around and showed us some of the lookout spots close to where he lives. This two spots are up on a hill where the entire town is property of the college. Here are a couple of the shots that I took there.

Yesterday was my Daddy’s Birthday!  There was also a beautiful moon outside last night (and incase you didn’t know it was there because it was my Daddy’s Birthday). SOOO I tried something I’ve never tried before and I shot the moon… Here is the result of that :)

So we had a girls day out at Churchill downs… I spent more money on food ($8.50) than on bets ($8.00) and I didn’t win a thing (not even a full tummy) But I did get some shots off… they aren’t as crisp as I would’ve liked them, but they’re ok :) Enjoy!

My advanced Photog class took a Saturday Field trip to Bernheim Forest in Clermont KY. It was kinda like the last shindig to finish off the course. Happy Easter! This weekend has been packed full and flown by! Here are some pictures of the Easter Egg Hunt that we attended today. My niece and nephews were there staking their claim on some eggs :)  All 2000 eggs that were laid out were gone in a matter of 5 minutes… if that, but they seemed to have had a good time and that is all that matters :)
